Arvest Bank's Million Meals Campaign Provides 160,000 Meals
The Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma is grateful to Arvest Bank for its continued support through the annual Million Meals campaign. This year, Arvest raised $40,000 for FBEO, helping provide 160,000 meals for families facing hunger across eastern Oklahoma. Now in its 16th year, the Million Meals campaign supports local hunger-relief organizations throughout Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, and Kansas. Since 2011, the initiative has raised more than $5.7 million and helped provide over 31 million meals. Thank you to Arvest Bank and everyone who donated to this year’s campaign. Your generosity is making a difference for our neighbors in need.
Oklahoma Secretary of Agriculture Blayne Arthur Visits the Food Bank
We were honored to welcome Oklahoma Secretary of Agriculture Blayne Arthur to the Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma. During her visit, we discussed our shared commitment to fighting hunger, the important role agriculture plays in strengthening our food system, and the growing need for nutritious food across eastern Oklahoma. We are grateful for Secretary Arthur’s leadership and look forward to continuing our work together to build a stronger, more food-secure Oklahoma.

FBEO is nominated in the non-profit spotlight section for best community leader (Food Bank President and CEO Jeff Marlow), best community outreach program, best food assistance program, and best volunteer organization. Program Highlight
Summer Meals
The Summer Meals team recently hosted its first pop-up meal site at McCullough Park in east Tulsa. The Mobile Eatery provided turkey and cheese sandwiches, juice, and milk to children and families visiting the park, enjoying the splash pad, or living in the surrounding neighborhood. To create a fun and welcoming environment, the Summer Meals team partnered with the Tulsa Parks Department to offer games, sidewalk chalk, and bubbles for children to enjoy. Tulsa Mayor Monroe Nichols, Deputy Mayor Krystal Reyes, and Anna America, Director of Parks, Culture & Recreation, helped kick off the event. Each spoke about the importance of ensuring children have access to nutritious meals during the summer months, as well as safe, family-friendly spaces where they can gather and play.

Keshon Price
This summer, the Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma has been proud to welcome Keshon Price, a participant in the PROSPER Equipping Youth for Life Program through Working Together: Simple Faith Ministries. As part of his summer internship, Keshon has regularly volunteered in our Volunteer Center, assisting with Sorting & Packing events. Since joining us, he has demonstrated a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and growing confidence while making a meaningful contribution to our mission. The PROSPER Program helps students develop leadership, workplace, and life skills through mentoring, educational experiences, and community service opportunities. We are grateful for our partnership with PROSPER and for the opportunity to support young leaders like Keshon as they prepare for bright futures.
Advocacy Spotlight
SNAP
Following the release of Oklahoma's Fiscal Year 2025 SNAP payment error rate of 11.04%, the Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma has been advocating with Oklahoma's federal delegation to support an extension of the SNAP cost shift timeline. Providing states with additional time to improve administrative accuracy before the cost shift takes effect will help protect critical food assistance, reduce financial strain on states, and ensure Oklahomans continue to have access to the nutrition they need.

Did you know our drivers travel approximately 285,000 miles each year, delivering food to community-based food pantries and meal programs and picking up food products? That’s more than 60,000 miles farther than the distance from the Earth to the Moon.
