The Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma wants to give a huge thank you to Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma for their generous donation to support our mission. We were fortunate to be one of 21 non-profit organizations BCBSOK donated to across Oklahoma, and we could not thank them enough. Stephania Grober, President of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma, says “Blue Impact grants are designed to target barriers to a healthy life, such as having a good-paying job, nutritious food and stable housing.”
The grant the Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma was given is meant to address the issue of having nutritious food accessible in the 24 counties we serve. Specifically, these funds will go directly to expanding our Mobile Market Program. FBEO’s Mobile Markets are a resource that allow people who live in areas with limited access to healthy food to receive nutritious meals. With this grant, this program will be able to grow which will allow us to reach many more Oklahomans in need.
