Hunger Action Month—Become a Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma Hunger Fighter!

Together we can make a difference!  September is here, which means it’s Hunger Action Month! It’s the start of the Feeding America network’s annual campaign to inspire our communities to take action and help create an America where no one is hungry.

At a time when food insecurity in America has reached its highest rate in over a decade and the largest cuts to SNAP and Medicaid in history were recently signed into law, we aim to meet the moment through the power of collective action. We will work with every partner—neighbors with lived and living experience of hunger, donors, advocates, lawmakers, and community-led and faith-based organizations—to raise awareness and drive the public to give now to help fuel local impact. Also, on September 9th, join us and take small steps to raise awareness and make a difference for Oklahomans in need:

How to participate in Hunger Action Day September 9, 2025

Wear Orange: Join the movement by wearing orange, the color of hunger relief.

Volunteer: Get hands-on and sign up for a short volunteer time slot! It’s easy and goes along way.

Donate: Encourage your network of friends, family and co-workers to donate to hunger-relief efforts or organize a food drive.

Advocate: Use your voice to raise awareness and urge your elected officials to support policies that combat hunger.

Share: Amplify the message by sharing statistics, information, and calls to action on social media.

Learn: Educate yourself and others about the realities of food insecurity in your community.
