Welcome to The Feed — a quick update about the tremendous impact YOU — our donors, partner agencies, volunteers, and the eastern Oklahoma community make! We could not fight hunger without you!

Hunger Action Month Re-Cap
The Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma is leading the fight against hunger in Oklahoma, and during September’s Hunger Action Month, many of you joined us! Successes included volunteers packing food for Oklahomans in need, our partnership with Tulsa People’s Restaurant Week, supporters organizing food drives, donating and even taking special educational tours. The best part of Hunger Action Month is that you can help make a difference all year round.
Blue Impact Drives Healthy Food Access in Oklahoma

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma (BCBSOK) is breaking down barriers to healthier lives across our state. Through its Blue Impact initiative, BCBSOK has awarded a generous $50,000 grant to expand our Mobile Market Program.
The Mobile Market brings fresh, nutritious food directly to communities with limited access to grocery stores, helping families get the healthy meals they need. With this support, we can now reach even more Oklahomans in need.
Thank you, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma, for fueling healthier futures!
Volunteer Spotlight:
Milo's Tea Company

Milo’s Tea Company is more than just a generous donor, they’re true partners in the fight against hunger. Their employees regularly roll up their sleeves to volunteer at the Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma, giving their time and energy to help families across our community.
When a major water main break left thousands of neighbors without water for days, Milo’s stepped up in an extraordinary way. They shut down normal operations and transformed their production lines to make bottled water for those in need. This act of compassion, along with their recent generous donation of $20,000, shows the heart behind the Milo’s team.
We are grateful for Milo’s commitment to nourishing hope and standing with us in times of need

Special thanks to both of these longtime partners who have changed young lives by supporting the Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma for many years. Food for Kids includes our Backpack, School Pantry, and Summer Meals programs as well as our Kids Cafes.

Grand Lake Community Ministry: "The Bluehouse"

Al and Kathy Spainer started at the Grand Lake Community Ministry food pantry in 2002. The pantry began in a small house, and one corner of the home was hung up by hay bells and worth very little. Kathy’s initial goal was to be able to provide food and increase the quantity of food provided. They began with pantry distributions being offered twice a month, with a high focus on inspiring those who visited the pantry to seek out employment and have a good quality life. Their pantry has expanded over time and been well supported by their community: they successfully raised $65,000 to build their current pantry facility known as "The Bluehouse," and now operate their pantry twice a week that can be accessed by those in the community once a month. As they look to the future, they have recently encountered several recipients who have no access to water or any place to shower and are contemplating installing a shower in their facility. Thank you, Al and Kathy and GLCM Bluehouse, for your servant-hearts and efforts to serve those in need in your community!

This month was a busy one with our Hunger Action Month activities taking center stage! We hosted a variety of events, from Restaurant Week—including our new catering venture Table 24—to advocacy efforts and much more. A special thanks to the general public and local media members who wore orange, the symbolic color of Hunger Action Day.
