Morgan Stanley Foundation is once again providing tremendous support to the Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma to more effectively reach children and families facing hunger in our community! This very special $32,000 grant will go toward our backpack, school pantry, kids café and summer meals programs!
Food insecurity exists in every county, parish and borough in the United States. It impacts people regardless of background, demographics, location, or disability. In Oklahoma, one in five people, including one in four children, face hunger.
The Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma is one of 39 Feeding America® partner food banks receiving funding from the Morgan Stanley Foundation this year, as part of its long-standing commitment to supporting children’s health in communities across the country.
Last year, the Morgan Stanley Foundation committed $8 million in additional funding to Feeding America, bringing the firm’s total donation to more than $50 million since 2009. The main goal of their donation is to support local hunger-relief programs that deliver food assistance and nutritious meals to children and families.“We are proud to support the Feeding America network of food banks and their critical work to reach communities facing hunger across the country,” said Joan Steinberg, President of the Morgan Stanley Foundation.
