Junior Ambassadors for the Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma were invited to participate in “Anti-Hunger Day” at the Oklahoma City Capitol. The event was hosted by the Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma, Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma, and Hunger Free Oklahoma. This group of High School Juniors and Seniors, spent the day meeting with lawmakers, networking with other food advocates, and providing a voice for the youth as they discussed important issues surrounding food insecurity in Oklahoma. This cohort of 2025-2026 Junior Ambassadors have been spending the past few months preparing for Anti-Hunger Day by learning about food insecurity, how the Food Bank works, how we fight for change, and became advocates in their communities in the process. We were so excited to have the opportunity to include them in this impactful event and grateful to this amazing group of young adults for their drive to support their neighbors in need, learn, and become food advocates.
