The Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma is grateful to Feeding America partners CVS Health, General Mills, CNH Industrial Foundation, and Performance Food Group for their generous contribution of $300,000. Earlier this year, our food bank was awarded a grant through an impactful partnership with Feeding America, that will help us provide meals to Oklahomans in need. This grant is aimed at being able to provide members of underserved communities with healthy and nutritious meals.
“The Hugo Mobile Markets is a new distribution we were able to begin with these grant funds,” according to Vice President of Community Impact, Joy Ferrin. “We were able to start operating Mobile Markets in Hugo in April of this year, and they’ve been a huge success. The markets have taken place in partnership with Hugo Public Schools and Lift Community Action Agency. With each Hugo Mobile Market that has taken place so far, the number of households and individuals we were able to serve has grown.”
