Feeding America was one of the major sponsors for the REIGN (Renewing and Empowering Indigenous Narratives) Native American Cultural Celebration. The weekend long event was held at the historic Coleman Theatre in Miami, Oklahoma.
This unique conference celebrated traditional and contemporary understandings of Native history and culture. Other activities and fascinating topics included theatre and film, storytelling, fashion, and arts and crafts.
Feeding America’s Director of Native/Tribal Partnerships, Mark Ford was a keynote speaker and expert featured throughout the event. Another poignant aspect of the event included a tribute to the late Vine Deloria Jr.’s 50th anniversary of his publication God is Red.
