Oklahoma National Guard members conduct various training events throughout the year. This year’s special Veteran’s Day event truly made an immediate difference in the lives of so many in need!
More than 30 soldiers marched the donated food in their backpacks from their base as part of unique training exercise. They made training stops along the way and then arrived at the Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma’s feeding partner, Good Samaritan Ministry.
“So thankful to the national guard for doing this,” said Good Samaritan Ministry’s Wilma Erickson. “This time of year, we serve many Rogers County citizens in need, plus many homeless people.”
Good Samaritan Ministry is one of the Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma’s more than 600 feeding partners pantries. In total, the Oklahoma National Guard provided 631 meals for Oklahomans in need. Thank you!
