We are pleased to announce that Karla Davis has joined the Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma as Chief Financial Officer. Karla is dedicated to making a difference in our community.
“I have worked my entire career in nonprofits. I worked for 7 years for the Magic Empire Council of Girl Scouts which was the predecessor to the current Girl Scouts of Eastern Oklahoma, first as a manager of the Stillwater Service Center and later as the Accountant. Following that, I worked for 31 years for Goodwill Industries of Tulsa as first as Director of Finance and ending as VP of Administration/CFO. My specialty at Goodwill was to manage activities and programs (IT, financial resilience programs, marketing, social media, website, etc.),” said Davis.
A graduate of Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Karla keeps very busy helping others! “In my free time, I am a Girl Scout troop leader, and council program volunteer leading events like museum overnights for hundreds of Girl Scouts,” said Davis. “During the Lego Season, I am an assistant coach for a Girl Scout FIRST Lego Team. During the income tax season, I am a volunteer tax preparer for Goodwill’s VITA Program, which completes and files returns for households making under $64,000 and for those with disabilities or for whom English is difficult at no cost to the taxpayers.”
