Stamp Out Hunger is the nation’s largest one-day food drive. This year on May 11th letter carriers collected bags of donated food along their routes for Oklahomans in need! A big thank you to our postal workers as well as residents who donated food. We collected almost 200,000 pounds of food that day! The food was picked up by our feeding partner agencies in our 24 county coverage area or by our Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma truck drivers who brought the food back to the Food Bank to be sorted and sent back out to Oklahomans in need. This food drive’s timing is crucial. We are headed into our important summer feeding programs helping families since school is out and free or reduced meals might not be available over the summer in their school district. Thank you to our letter carriers and to the residents who donated. We are grateful!
