Did you know that one in four children in Oklahoma struggles daily with hunger, a problem that grows each year? The child food insecurity rate rose nearly 5% over the past year, and over 60% of children rely on free or reduced school lunch programs. However, many kids lose access to consistent, healthy meals when the bell rings for weekends and breaks.
The Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma is taking action to fight childhood hunger in the region. Our Food for Kids programs are dedicated to serving children and families in underserved communities by providing access to nutritious food all year round. With initiatives like Mobile Pantries, School Pantries, Backpack for Kids program, and more, we are committed to tackling childhood hunger daily.
