Child hunger is a serious issue that affects our communities. The rate of food insecurity for the children of northeastern Oklahoma continues to rise.
The Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma is on a mission to end hunger by working with our communities, local farmers, and partners to get families the food they need.

After suffering an injury that left him unable to work, workers’ compensation wasn’t enough for Lamont to feed his family. He didn’t want to visit a food pantry, but his wife reminded him that he needed to sacrifice his pride so they could feed their children.
“Everyone was so kind,” he said. “They shook my hand, hugged me, and helped me see that this didn’t mean I was a failure as a father, as a man. They gave met the help to get back to where I was before.”
When you support the Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma, you’re advocating for an organization that serves more than 600 food pantries or feeding programs in 24 counties throughout the state. Our policy priorities set a vision for what we need to do to end chronic hunger and put our neighbors on a path to self-sufficiency.
We offer a semester-long paid fellowship program focused on reducing food insecurity. We welcome applications from undergraduates, recent graduates, and graduate students from colleges and universities in Oklahoma City and Tulsa.
Take action to end hunger in Oklahoma each September. Together, we can focus on the reality of food insecurity and promote ways for people to get involved in the movement to help end hunger.
Connect with food security advocates and state lawmakers to discuss hunger in Oklahoma and share ideas on sustainable policy solutions that can help our neighbors become food secure.
