Support our summer meals program to feed hungry kids.

Every child should be able to eat healthy meals throughout the year, but with 60% of Oklahoma students qualifying for free or reduced school lunch programs, many kids go hungry during the summer. Together, we can make sure no family facing hunger goes without food.

Feed kids this summer.

When school is out, our summer meals program makes sure every child has a nourishing breakfast and lunch.

Summer is difficult for food-insecure families.

Oklahoma has opted out of Summer EBT, a program from the U.S. Department of Agriculture that provides grocery-buying benefits to low-income families with school-aged children during the summer when kids lose access to the meals they receive at school.

Rising food costs affect families who live paycheck-to-paycheck.

As the cost of food keeps rising, thousands of families with kids face the impossible choice between food and other essentials, such as electricity or medicine, despite the fact that more than half of the families who access food pantries are employed.

We’re determined to significantly increase our summer meals program.

When children lose access to the meals they receive at school, families turn to the Food Bank for help. We’ll work with 600+ community-based feeding partners and school systems throughout eastern Oklahoma to provide more than 200,000 meals to kids.

This summer, children will also receive fresh, healthy meals from the Food Bank’s new state-of-the-art culinary center—meals that nourish kids and give them the energy to play and the strength to ride, jump, and swim.

Help make summer a time for fun, not hunger.
