Join the largest one-day food drive in the country on Saturday, May 11
For 27 years, the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) has conducted an annual nationwide food drive on the second Saturday in May. Using the unparalleled postal networks, letter carriers collect non-perishable food donations on that day as they deliver mail along their postal routes. It is held in over 10,000 cities and towns in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands and Guam.
This is the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma’s largest food drive of the year, annually raising more than 200,000 pounds of food to be distributed to those struggling with hunger in our communities.
Help make the 27th annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive the biggest yet. Below are three ways to participate.
- May 11 Leave non-perishable food by your mailbox by 7am to be picked up by your letter carrier.
- April 24 – May 14 Make a food or monetary donation at Reasor’s.
- Donate online here. Make sure to select “Stamp Out Hunger” from the drop down.
200,000 pounds of food is a lot! Transporting, sorting, and packing that food requires the efforts of over 150 volunteers. Will you donate your time? Contact Conner Carroll at 918-936-4545 to sign up and join us!
