The Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma wants to thank Seaboard Foods for generously donating 3,000 cases of pork products totaling 40,000 pounds of meat that will go directly to families in need. This donation was made possible by the Oklahoma Pork Council “Give-A-Ham” campaign which gathered enough pork products to make this amazing contribution to our cause.
To celebrate this impactful donation, the Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma hosted the Oklahoma Table Summit – an event that gathered our partner agencies, civic leaders, local food manufacturers, farmers, and other community members who play a vital role in strengthening Oklahoma’s food system. Members of the Future Farmers of America (FFA) local chapters also attended the event to learn more about how future generations can work together and find solutions to hunger needs in our community.
“At Seaboard Foods, we care deeply about nourishing communities and supporting our Oklahoma neighbors, especially during the holidays when the need is greatest,” said David Eaheart, senior director of communications and brand marketing at Seaboard Foods. “Through the Oklahoma Pork Council’s Give-A-Ham campaign, we’re honored to donate a truckload of wholesome and delicious Oklahoma pork to the Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma. We hope this helps families enjoy comforting and nutritious meals this holiday season.”
“We are beyond grateful to Seaboard Foods and the Oklahoma Pork Council for their impact on fighting hunger in our state,” said Jeff Marlow, president and CEO of the Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma. “Food insecurity continues to impact over half a million Oklahomans each year. We are all better together and this tremendous donation helps us serve our community and make a significant and immediate difference in the lives of families and individuals in need. Thank you for making a difference for thousands of Oklahomans facing hunger.”
