Café Ole Supports Food For Kids
Many restaurants support our Food for Kids program during Restaurant Week. Our September event features prix-fixe menus with a 10% donation of sales to the Food Bank. Most restaurant owners participate because it gives diners an incentive to try out a new restaurant and generate new business, but Don with Café Ole wanted to do more.
We were pleased when Don Jones, owner of Café Ole, contacted us and expressed his desire to create a special Food for Kids campaign in lieu of Restaurant Week. Now, every third Wednesday of the month, all year long, diners can choose from the entire Café Ole menu from 5pm-8pm with 15% of sales donated to the Food Bank.
Ultimately, Don supports the program because, “Kids who have the opportunity to eat well are better learners and can attain higher levels of education than those who don’t get proper nutrition. I’ve always believed education is the surest path to a successful life—my kids grew up knowing how important school was to our family—and I want all children to have the same chance at success.” So far, Café Ole’s Food for Kids Night has raised the equivalent of over 4,000 meals. Our thanks go to Don, for his commitment to the children in eastern Oklahoma. We hope to see you at Café Ole on a third Wednesday.
