The Village Project

Village Project Group PhotoThe Village Project is one of the Food Bank’s, monthly volunteer groups. Additionally, they participate at Food Bank special events, such as the annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. According to Akela Leach, executive director, “The Village Project brings people together through local community service projects.”

When describing efforts at the Food Bank, Akela stated, “We love volunteering at The Food Bank because they support so many other agencies in the area. We know when we spend time there we are actually helping many organizations at once. We have served at shelters and schools that utilize Food Bank services, so we get to see the full impact of the Food Bank’s work. We also have fun spending time there with each other.”
