WIC—The Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children
The Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) is a federally funded program administered by state and tribal governments to improve nutrition for low-income pregnant women and children. WIC serves infants, children up to age 5, and women who are pregnant, postpartum or breastfeeding. Participants must be residents of the state where they apply, meet income requirements, and be nutritionally at risk. WIC provides food benefits, nutrition education and support for breastfeeding.
